Squirrel Lodge

At Saint Nathaniel's, we have our fantastic two year old provision room, 'Squirrel Lodge'. We are a 24 place setting consisting of two 15 hour groups. 12 children join us in the morning 8:30am-11:30am and 12 children in the afternoon 12:15pm-3:15pm.

At Squirrel Lodge Pre-School we have created a safe, caring and fun environment to engage and stimulate the lives of your  children. Squirrel Lodge encourages children to be confident, challenged, successful and have high self-esteem. We work closely with parents and other agencies, schools and private day nurseries to provide the highest quality childcare for each of our little squirrels. 

 

Squirrel Lodge is run by experienced and qualified staff committed to ensure quality care for your child. 

Miss Clark, Mrs Walkinshaw and Miss Ghafoor, are our amazing key group practitioners and we are part of, 'Fantastic Foxes, Super Squirrels and Happy Hedgehogs.'

Learning Through Play

We promote learning through play as we value its importance. Children learn best when they explore and experience things first-hand. Play is essential to development as it contributes to the cognitive, physical, social, and emotional well-being of children.

​

Learning and development opportunities are planned around each child’s needs and interests. These are regularly assessed and reviewed using, 'Evidence Me'. We will send you your child's, 'Wow Moments', weekly using the app by sending photographs and written observations. 

 

Adults respond to individual needs and interests, and guide development through warm, positive interactions in an encouraging, stimulating and a well-resourced indoor and outdoor environment.

The EYFS team scaffold, support and enhance the children’s knowledge, skills and understanding.

Throughout our EYFS, you will find a happy, positive, vibrant and stimulating learning environment where all children are encouraged to be as independent as possible. Children have daily access to well-planned indoor and out-door learning environments.  Our provision provides children with opportunities to be active and physical as well as quiet and reflective.
